Main Line Pa Chester County Snow Day-Photo Friday

I love the snow. Especially sitting by the fireplace with a good book. Some snows in Chester County and the Main Line Pa area are not what you would call “pretty” snows, but this one was beautiful.

Daisy Bichon Puppy Snow Photo

No one can love an ice storm for example. Especially the ones that bring down wires and cause slippery road conditions but they can be beautiful to look at.

Daisy, who knows nothing of the practicalities, also loves the snow.

Who’s Daisy? The most adorable Bichon Puppy ever!

This past snow was a “pretty snow”, light, fluffy and playful just like Daisy who runs and plays in the snow like a two year old. So of course we were out before daybreak placing our first tracks in the snow. Well, actually the first tracks were bunnies, deer and other little creatures.

The combination of some mystical fading moonlight and a little daylight peeking through gave an eerie glow to our morning walk that I tried to capture.

Chester County Pa Homes and Groundhog Day

Real Estate Pa Spring Predictions, Super Bowl Sunday, Groundhog Day?

Chester County Pennsylvania Realtors across the State mark the two events of Super Bowl Sunday and Punxsutawney Ground Hog Day on their Real Estate calendar. Groundhog  Day weekend events are held in Gobblers Knob in Punxsutawney Pa January 30th to February 2nd.

Will Pennsylvania’s Punxsutawney Phil See His Shadow? You can vote too. A “No” Vote means we get an early Spring. So vote early and often.

Realtors look forward to these two events with anticipation. Legend has it that the Real Estate Spring market officially begins after Super Bowl Sunday.

Since 1886, Punxsutawney Phil is the Groundhog who predicts the weather and the arrival of Spring. Here’s how it works. If the Groundhog sees his Read the rest of this entry »

Chester County Homes Going Green?

The US Green Building Council

Here in Chester County and the Main Line area I’m reminded of the “trend” towards “going green” in home design and new construction. Right after the financial crises, it’s one of the hottest real estate topics of our time. The US Green Building Council has developed the Leeds Guidelines for homes and construction planning on “going green”. Public Buildings and Municipal Buildings are trending to going Green. Several local Builders are picking up the trend as well.

Kermit The Frog sang the song, “It’s Not Easy Being Green” in another context. But as we look around our local landscape, we’re curious about how easy it is to find environmentally friendly Green Home Design here in Chester County and the Philadelphia Main Line Area. It’s definitely getting easier to be environmentally conscious with new home construction. Many builders advertise that they follow green building design and construction. Be sure to ask. First Time Home Buyer What Should I Ask For?

What should I ask for in my offer to buy a house?

It’s a simple question. Deceptively simple. But almost always asked by First Time Home Buyers here in Chester County, Delaware County and Montgomery County.First Time Buyers Ask And truth be known, there’s many a tale to tell. Some not very pretty and some could be a sitcom. But here’s the, ” What should I ask for?” Inclusion Exclusion basics:

Negotiating For Your First Home

My answer often begins with, “It depends” followed by more questions:

There’s an old saying in real estate when you’re negotiating. You either get the “price” or you get the “terms”. Not usually both. But sometimes you can get both. So what are inclusions and exclusions. How does negotiating work? Read the rest of this entry »

Happy New Year 2009 From Chester County Main Line Pa Today

Wish you could be everywhere at once to usher in the New Year? Try some of the International Web Cams from Times Square to D.C to London and Waikiki.

Do you ever feel that there’s just not enough time in the day to do all you want to do. There will be a leap second added at the end of 2008 for all of the atomic clocks to sync with the true rotation of the earth so that the Sun remains overhead at precisely 12 noon.  Seems that the Earth is occasionally a little wobbly (gosh, do you think?). Just a little more evidence, if you needed it, that 2008 is one of the quirkiest years ever. Read the rest of this entry »

Real Estate Open Houses And Why We Need The Puppy

Real Estate Open House and Why Do We Care About The Puppy?

I love helping people realize their family home ownership dreams. And I usually love holding Sunday Open Houses. It’s an opportunity to show off the best features of my listing, put my Real Estate Marketing Plan into action and have some dialog with the people who matter most in real estate.

I really like these people.

That’s what I was thinking as I listened to Sixty Minutes interview Sunday night with the President Elect Barack Obama and Michelle Obama.

“…America is ready for the Puppy…America is more ready than we are..” is what our President Elect said when pressed on the issue of the promised puppy. We know that it’s the right thing for the parents to plan for the best time for the puppy to join their family. And yet, I’m curious, why do we care so much about the puppy?
